Michael Talbot : PartnerLLB (Hons), AAMINZAfter working in construction in the UK for a number of years, Michael returned to NZ and completed a Bachelor of Laws with Honours at the University of Waikato in 1996. Michael joined McCaw Lewis Chapman in March 1997 and became a partner in April 2005. Michael specialises in civil litigation and dispute resolution with a focus on construction law. Michael acts for a variety of construction companies and contractors. He acts regularly on Construction Contract Act claims and leaky building claims. Michael has appeared in the High Court and District Court, as well in numerous arbitrations and mediations, on construction related disputes. Michael has been an associate of the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute since 2001 and is a member of the New Zealand Society of Construction Law. Michael has two teenage daughters and has spent the last ten years on school boards of trustees in various roles including chair.
